Patrick North is a South Bay Area/ Santa Cruz area jazz bassist who has been performing in many settings across the greater San Francisco and Monterey Bay areas for the past nine years. In addition to jazz he also plays latin music and latin jazz, as well as jazz/funk and acid jazz.

Patrick’s primary projects are The Ananda Jazz Ensemble featuring Venezuelan pianist/ San Jose State lecturer Abi Romero Ramirez, The Neil Kelly Ensemble, featuring guitarist Neil Kelly, and Double Standard, featuring pianist Sue Marvin and vocalist Liz Raquelle. He also plays regularly with several other San Francisco/ Monterey Bay Area ensembles, large and small.

Patrick has studied jazz for several years with Ray Brown at Cabrillo College, and also with Stan Poplin at UC Santa Cruz.

Concurrently, he has performed in several ensembles as a vocalist (baritone/tenor), and also has played bassoon in several classical groups, giving him a broad view of the musical performance spectrum.
